چکیده

This paper presents an eecient algorithm to generate realistic images using spline wavelets. Our algorithm departs from the use of non-overlapping wavelets by providing a continuous solution at no extra cost. This in turn eliminates need for inaccurate Gouraud shading or expensive nal gather step. Advantage of spline wavelets come from the fact that scaling functions are n th order B-splines that give rise to C n?2 continuity. This paper presents new data structures and algorithm that are well suited for overlapping wavelets. We restrict our work in this paper to scenes containing diiuse surfaces only.

Eecient Global Illumination Using Compactly Supported Overlapping Bases

This paper deals with solving the global illumination problem using compactly supported overlapping bases. Overlapping bases have not been used for their computational complexities. This paper is a step towards solving illumination ee-ciently using overlapping bases. Cubic B-splines are used as an example to show the eecient solution of global illumination. B-splines have properties that give a...

Adaptive Wave Propagation Modeling

This paper discusses several current attempts to use acoustic and electromagnetic wave propagation for modeling physical phenomena and the role that wavelet analysis is playing in these eeorts. The rst problem involves recent application of wavelets to computational uid dynamics. The second problem involves geophysical modeling of the ocean oor, using acoustic waves, and wavelets have recently ...

Combining Higher-Order Wavelets and Discontinuity meshing: A Compact Representation for Radiosity

The radiosity method is used for global illumination simulation in diffuse scenes, or as an intermediate step in other methods. Radiosity computations using Higher-Order wavelets achieve a compact representation of the illumination on many parts of the scene, but are more expensive near discontinuities, such as shadow boundaries. Other methods use a mesh, based on the set of discontinuities of ...

Light-Driven Global Illumination with a Wavelet Representation of Light Transport

This thesis considers the problem of global illumination: the modelling of light as it travels through a scene interacting with the objects contained within the scene. Starting with a description of the problem and a discussion of previous work, we explore a new approach called light-driven global illumination that o ers several advantages over its predecessors: a lower asymptotic complexity, a...

People Re-identification in Non-overlapping Field-of-views using Cumulative Brightness Transform Function and Body Segments in Different Color Spaces

Non-overlapping field-of-view (FOV) cameras are used in surveillance system to cover a wider area. Tracking in such systems is generally performed in two distinct steps. In the first step, people are identified and tracked in the FOV of a single camera. In the second step, re-identification of the people is carried out to track them in the whole area under surveillance. Various conventional fea...
